Prep Roundup: North volleyball upends Union 25-15, 25-7, 25-9

Visiting Union put up a battle in the first game but was eventually no match for Terre Haute North in nonconference high school volleyball Monday, the host Patriots winning 25-15, 25-7, 25-9.
Laura Mauer, Mary Kate Etling and Katie Behnke combined for 47 service points, with Mauer handing out 23 assists. Brittany Farmer led North’s hitters with eight kills.

Highlights — For North, Laura Mauer had 23 assists, 3 kills, 2 digs, 17 points and 3 aces; Mary Kate Etling had 6 kills, 6 digs, 3 blocks, an assist, 15 points and 3 aces; Katie Behnke had 3 digs, 15 points and 3 aces; Brittany Farmer had 8 kills, 3 digs, a block, an assist, 6 points and an ace; Katlyn Anderson had 5 digs, 4 kills, 9 points and 2 aces; Hilary Jensen had 3 kills, 3 digs, 9 points and an ace; Kelbie Drebes had 2 digs, a kill and 4 points; Bri Hill had 4 kills and 2 digs; and Sara Baugh had 3 kills and a block.

• Tigers win — At West Vigo, visiting Paris defeated the Vikings in three games despite 11 kills and 10 digs by Jessica Coombs.
