Cassell takes first-round lead at Spaghetti Open

Chris Cassell has the lead after the first round of the 50th Spaghetti Open and will try to stay there at the conclusion of today’s final round at Matthews Park.
The former winner of the event shot 67 in Saturday’s first round played in ideal conditions and takes a one-shot lead into the final 18 holes..
Another former winner, Stacy Vitaniemei, is alone in second with 68.
Two former pros, Rich Schelsky and Scott Hess, carded 69s and are tied for third with Dave Wampler and Scott Williams.
Another former winner, Troy Farris, and Jeff Eagin, another Clay Countian, are next with 70s.
Last year’s winner, Dusty Jovanovich, is in group at 71 with Bob Kyle, another former winner; fellow former South Vermillion and Rose-Hulman player Jeremy Roehm, Mark Bird, Scott McVey, and two more South Vermillion players Kyle Stevenson and Dexter Dunham.
