PARIS, IL —
Harness racing was featured at the grandstand Monday evening at the Edgar County Fair.
More racing is slated this afternoon and concludes Wednesday. Post time is 1 p.m. daily with six heats on today’s card and 10 on Wednesday’s Merchants Day program.
Curtis Bradford and Jamaica Patton were in the bike for two winners on Monday’s card of seven heats and one exhibition event.
Patton’s winners were 2-year-old filly trotter Lil Miss Angel and 2-year-old colt trotter My Psychic Says. John Carver of Rapids City is owner or part owner of both winners.
Lil Miss Angel won for the fourth time in her last four starts while My Psychic Says won for the second time.
Bradford’s wins came with OG’s Si Bon, 2-year-old pacer winning for the first time in its eighth start, and Holly Hill Dandy, 4-year-old pacer winning for the second time this season.
Holly Hill Dandy edged Edmund Fitzgerald in a photo finish in the seventh race of the day with a time of 2 minutes, 2 seconds.
Ata Ata’s time was a tad faster than Holly Hill Dandy’s as the 5-year-old pacer won for the 15th time in its career. Marcus Turner was in the bike.
Monday’s program concluded with an exhibition featuring three young drivers with the winner being closest to 2:30 for the mile race. Tannor Spitler won this event for the second year in a row.
