ISU bookstore hosting student karaoke event

TERRE HAUTE — Barnes & Noble College Bookstore Café at Indiana State University is sponsoring karaoke from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

ISU students are studying for finals, which are next week. “We want them to have some fun,” said Sheldon Buskirk, café manager. “We’re close to campus and they can walk over.”

Students and other members of the community are welcome to attend.

There is no charge, and the bookstore is not making any money from the event, he said. “The people providing the karaoke equipment are working for tips from those who participate,” Buskirk said.

Those who attend will be able to purchase food and drinks from the café.

“We thought we would do a karaoke night so kids can come sing, have a good time and get away from their studies for a while,” Buskirk said.
