TERRE HAUTE — A Terre Haute man faces charges of child solicitation and contributing to the delinquency of a minor after allegedly offering to provide alcohol to the minor in exchange for sex.

Chris S. Wilkinson, 29, appeared via video in Vigo Superior Court 1 after being arrested Tuesday by Terre Haute Police.

THPD Detective Sanford Scott testified that the alleged victim told police that Wilkinson had touched her in a sexual manner about two years ago while she was staying overnight with his family.

Then in July, the alleged victim said she got a ride to an area park from Wilkinson, and when he took her home later, he stopped at another location and gave her moonshine to drink. The teen claims that Wilkinson later sent her text messages asking for sexual favors in exchange for more alcohol.

Scott stated that when Wilkinson was interviewed about the incidents, he admitted to giving the minor moonshine and said that he sent the text messages.

Judge John Roach found probable cause for Wilkinson’s arrest on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a class-C felony, and child solicitation, a class-D felony. Roach set a $50,000 cash-only bond in the case.
