TERRE HAUTE — One man sustained a broken ankle and possible internal injuries after an early Sunday morning accident in Greene County, police said.

According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, Seth Manion, 26, was transported to a hospital after the accident at Main Street near Owensburg where his vehicle traveled across the opposite lane of traffic, ran off the roadway, struck a tree and fence post before coming to rest in a yard, police said.

Manion told police he swerved to miss a dog.

Alcohol is suspected to be a contributing factor, the sheriff’s office said. There is an ongoing investigation, police said.
