TERRE HAUTE —
Construction crews are scheduled to finish several small road repair items on Interstate 70 now through Dec. 14.
Lane restrictions will be in place during daytime hours in Vigo, Clay and Putnam counties between U.S. 41 and U.S. 231 at the 41-mile marker.
Debbie Calder of the Indiana Department of Transportation told the Tribune-Star that work between Indiana 59 south of Brazil and U.S. 231 at the Cloverdale exit is mostly small projects such as patching, pavement markings, installing a drain and repairing a damaged guardrail.
Calder said the work in the Terre Haute area between U.S. 41 and U.S. 40/Indiana 46 will include lane restrictions for repair of a pavement patch and placement of temporary pavement markings.
The lane restrictions could cause traffic backups. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
In case of inclement weather, the work schedule can change.
Drivers are urged to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through construction zones. For news and information about construction projects, go online to www.in.gov/indot or www.trafficwise.IN.gov.
