---- — A Jasonville man was injured in an early Tuesday crash south of Riley.

Riley firefighters responded to the scene on Louisville Road about 1.5 miles south of Riley.

Troy Fulford, 41, reported that he was driving north when a deer ran into the road and he swerved to avoid the animal. His vehicle left the road and struck a tree head on.

Capt. Jeff Fox of the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department reports that Fulford complained of pain following the accident, and was transported to Terre Haute Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

He was treated and released.
