TERRE HAUTE —
A West Terre Haute man has died after a fall at a construction site at 13th Street and Margaret Avenue.
Kenneth Waller, 44, was discovered after 8 p.m. Monday lying in the basement of the building. An autopsy determined that he died as the result of massive head trauma.
Assistant Chief Shawn Keen of the Terre Haute Police Department told the Tribune-Star that Waller was last seen by his co-workers at the construction site at about 12:30 p.m. The co-workers told police they thought that Waller had gone home that afternoon, and they did not see him when they looked around the site before leaving for the day.
A relative of Waller became concerned when the man did not show up at home after work and did not answer his cell phone, Keen said. The relative and another person went to the construction site where they found his body.
Waller was supposed to be checking on some windows in the area of the building above the level where his body was found, Keen said.
No foul play is suspected in Waller’s death.
