Take advantage of Safe and Sober free cab ride home

TERRE HAUTE — Local law firm Fleschner, Stark, Tanoos & Newlin is encouraging holiday revelers to make smart decisions this Thanksgiving. The Wednesday before Thanksgiving has become one of the busiest drinking nights of the year and the firm wants to keep everyone safe. If you’ve had too much to drink, think twice about getting behind the wheel. To help with the effort, the firm continues it’s Safe and Sober program by providing free cab rides home to adults who have gobbled up one too many drinks.

The Safe and Sober Free Cab Ride Home program will be available in the Terre Haute area from 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, to 3 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 28.

To request a free cab ride home, call Yellow Cab of Terre Haute at 812-478-5000 and tell them Fleschner Law is paying for your safe ride home.

• People must call Yellow Cab of Terre Haute and mention the program to get a free ride home.

• Cab rides are provided from a bar or restaurant to an individual’s residence – not to other drinking locations.

• Due to the high number of ride requests, rides cannot be guaranteed for everyone who calls; however, every attempt will be made to accommodate all requests. Drivers have the right to use their discretion when accepting fares.

• Be sure to call at least a half hour before you would like to be picked up. Due to the number of cab drivers, you could be waiting a short while.

About Safe and Sober

Launched on New Year’s Eve 2008, the Safe and Sober Free Cab Ride Home program provides a safe transportation alternative during many of the traditionally high alcohol consumption holidays. Cab rides are made available on New Year’s Eve, Super Bowl Sunday, St. Patrick’s Day, Blues at the Crossroads, Halloween, and Thanksgiving Eve to area residents who otherwise might attempt to drive home after drinking.
