Neurologist to give presentation at Parkinson’s luncheon

TERRE HAUTE — Living well is not an uncommon goal. For people afflicted with the neurological disorder of Parkinson’s disease, that aspiration includes some complexities.

Some advice on the topic will be delivered at the Parkinson’s Patient Education Luncheon at noon Aug. 30 in the Holiday Inn of Terre Haute on U.S. 41 South. Wabash Valley neurologist Dr. Steven Maynard will speak on “Living Well with Parkinson’s Disease.” The luncheon will also serve as the monthly meeting of the Terre Haute Parkinson’s Support Group.

The luncheon is free and sponsored by Teva, with Ryan Conrad serving as host. No reservations are required, and Parkinson’s patients, caregivers, friends and family are encouraged to attend.

Parkinson’s affects an estimated 1.5 million Americans. No cure is known, but treatments and medications can slow its progression.

For more information, contact support group founder Loyal Bishop at 812-242-4668.
