Name of man found dead in basement released

TERRE HAUTE — Police on Sunday released the name of the victim of a possible homicide that occurred on Friday in Terre Haute.

Ronald L. Arrowsmith, 32, was found dead on the basement floor of a home at the 2200 block of First Avenue on Friday, police said.

The name was initially withheld by police pending identification and family notification.

According to the Terre Haute Police Department, officers responded to the residence around 8:02 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers were told that a male had been shot and was dead in the basement.

After clearing the residence, officers discovered the body of a white male lying on the basement floor of the residence, police said.

Two women, both residents at the home, were later arrested.

 Rhonda S Reynolds, 53, and Amber M. Reynolds, 33, were arrested on preliminary charges of obstruction of justice related to altering the crime scene, police said.

Authorities have asked anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Terre Haute Police Department.
