Foundation awards 18 grants

Nonprofit organizations receive more than $120,000 for community projects



Wabash Valley Community Foundation grant recipients for Fall 2013:

• Catholic Charities $3,846, equipment for food bank

• Catholic Charities/Ryves Hall, $2,500 exterior door

• Covenant Cooperative Ministries, $5,000 update electrical wiring

• Crossroads of America Youth Orchestra, $5,000 Youth Orchestra Festival

• Family Service Association Counseling Center, $8,200 computer update

• HANDS in Autism, $3,500 program support

• ISU Rural-Urban-Entrepreneurship Development, $1,000 web support

• Light House Mission, $5,611 new stove and fryer

• Salvation Army, $1,600 freezers for food pantry

• Terre Haute Symphony Association, $20,000 children’s concert

• Vigo County CASA Kids, $15,000 volunteer expansion project

• Vigo County Public Library, $5,000 to purchase 3,000 books for the Big Read

• Wabash Valley Health Center (St. Ann Clinic), $15,000 medical supplies

• West Vigo Community Center, $1,500 transportation

• WILL Center, $10,000 wheel-chair ramps

• Wabash Valley Habitat for Humanity, $4,000 construction and ReStore equipment

• United Way of the Wabash Valley, $17,500 trailer and equipment for mobile food market

• Wabash Senior Citizens Center, $1,199 AED machine
