TERRE HAUTE —
A traffic stop in Terre Haute led to the arrest of an Indianapolis man for drug-related charges Saturday morning, authorities said.
Robert L. Cameron Jr., 28, of Indianapolis was arrested and charged with dealing in marijuana over 30 grams and possession of marijuana over 30 grams, police said. Both charges are class D felonies, police said.
Just after midnight, Indiana State Police stopped a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer driven by Cameron for failure to signal a turn and improper display of a license plate, police said. The vehicle was traveling north on U.S. 41 near Helen Avenue, authorities said.
During the stop, police noticed the driver appeared very nervous and the interior of the vehicle smelled of marijuana, according to Indiana State Police.
Police conducted a search and found approximately one-half pound of marijuana concealed in a plastic bucket in the cargo area of the vehicle, authorities said.
Cameron was incarcerated in the Vigo County Jail.
