Former Terre Haute mayor still in Indianapolis hospital

TERRE HAUTE — A former Terre Haute mayor injured in a Sunday car crash remains hospitalized at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Judy Anderson, 72, is recovering from injuries sustained in a wreck in Putnam County that claimed the life of her husband, Brent.

No condition update was available for Anderson as of Tuesday afternoon, according to a hospital spokesman. She was listed in good condition on Monday.

The Andersons were westbound on U.S. 40 near Reelsville when their Lincoln Town Car went off the north side of the highway and struck a makeshift cargo trailer and a tree. Brent Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy on Monday revealed that he had a heart attack before driving off the road.
