Nationwide hunt continues for suspect in homicides

The Tribune-Star

ROCKFORD, Ill. — Illinois State Police investigators are working with the Rockford Police Department, U.S. marshals and police nationwide to locate a person of interest in two murders.

Terence Doddy, 36, of Rockford, is a suspect in the murders of Tonya Bargman, 44 of Monticello, Ill., on Tuesday at the Willow Creek rest stop in Paw Paw, Ill., and of Todd Hansmeier, 37, on Monday in Rockford.

ISP Investigators have obtained new surveillance video and are now releasing images of Bargman’s gray 2013 Nissan Altima bearing Illinois registration BARGMN2. The car has a silver colored “Illini Nissan” decal located at its lower rear bumper.

Police also believe that Doddy may be in possession of a blue, dome-styled camping tent.

Police are providing an updated photo of Doddy obtained from store surveillance where Doddy is believed to be in the process of exiting a store location with several items. The store is not being named at this time, but is located in the Rockford area.

Investigators have issued law enforcement alerts nationwide, and police have received numerous tips and leads from the public. Anyone with any information or sightings of the vehicle is asked to immediately call 911.

Law enforcement officials continue to urge the public to take safety precautions when visiting rest stop areas, campgrounds and other outdoor areas during the holiday weekend.
