Beat the heat with T.H. Rex at Children’s Museum

TERRE HAUTE — If you’re looking to beat the heat on Wednesday, stop by the Terre Haute Children’s Museum, 727 Wabash Ave., to mingle with members of the Terre Haute Rex Baseball Team while enjoying some baseball experiments and activities.

From 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., guests will learn baseball fun facts and get to participate in a variety of baseball-related activities. Learn how to keep score, how to throw different types of pitches, and much more! Guests will also participate in some baseball experiments to learn how a baseball reacts in different types of weather and how to find the “sweet spot” of a bat. In addition, kids under the age of 15 will receive a free ticket to a Rex baseball game.

At 12:30 p.m., Rex team members and staff will participate in a short question and answer session and give special awards to guests who participate in all of the activity stations. Players will also be available to sign autographs and take photos. Visitors are welcome to bring their own Rex memorabilia and pens for obtaining autographs and their own cameras for photos.

The Rex baseball event at the Museum, which is being co-sponsored by the Indiana State University (ISU) Go Figure team, the ISU Center for Mathematics Education and the ISU Old National Bank Financial Health Program, is free with Museum admission. Regular admission is $7 for adults and children over 24 months. Museum admission is free for members of the Terre Haute Children’s Museum and children under 24 months.

The Terre Haute Children’s Museum, located at the corner of 8th Street and Wabash Avenue in downtown Terre Haute, is a nonprofit institution dedicated to enriching our children’s lives through the exploration of science and technology. For more information about the Museum, visit www.thchildrens
