25 year old faces charges after allegedly threatening to shoot people
A Terre Haute man faces criminal charges after allegedly pointing a gun at a group of people and threatening to shoot them.
Jahmar Smith, 25, was arrested early Sunday after police were called to the area of Foulkes Drive and Lockport Drive on a report of a man threatening people with a gun. Police arriving at the scene were told that the suspect had fled in a red car. Smith was located a short time later on Ninth Street. Police report that he stopped the car in the 1600 block and ran away. Police found a discarded gun near the residence where Smith stopped the car. He was taken into custody a short time later.
Witnesses told police that Smith threatened to shoot people due to a disagreement the night before at a local bar.
Man facing multiple charges related to June 4 battery involving a knife
A Terre Haute man faces multiple charges related to a June 4 battery involving three other people.
Dustin Michael Davis, 38, was arrested Friday on charges of battery by means of a deadly weapon, criminal recklessness, battery resulting in bodily injury and two counts of misdemeanor battery.
Terre Haute Police report that Davis allegedly pulled a knife on someone, and battered two other people in a fight.
He appeared Monday morning in Vigo Superior Court 3 where his bond has been set at $35,000 with no 10 percent allowed. Davis said he intends to hire his own attorney. He is to return to court for a hearing on July 22.
Suspect in Bogey’s burglary out of hospital, in Vigo County Jail
A Terre Haute man arrested after allegedly burglarizing a local business and crashing a minivan into a telephone pole early Saturday morning is scheduled to appear in Vigo Superior Court 3 on Thursday for the filing of formal charges.
As of Monday afternoon, 27-year-old Kyle Layman was out of the hospital and in the Vigo County Jail, but his bond was set at $60,000 cash only. Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Jacob Miller stated in court that it is likely that class-B felony charges will be filed against Layman, who has numerous prior convictions.
Layman was arrested Saturday close to the scene of the crash at Indiana 63 after he emerged from a cornfield and asked off-duty deputies for a ride, police said.
Layman faces charges of burglary, fleeing police and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, all related to the burglarizing of Bogey’s Family Fun Center early Saturday morning, police said.
