TERRE HAUTE —
Two adults were injured Sunday evening while riding an all-terrain vehicle near Lexington Farms Subdivision off Moyer Drive in southern Vigo County.
The Riley Fire Department responded to the scene at 6:50 p.m., along with the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department, Honey Creek Fire Department and TransCare ambulance. The man and woman were injured when the ATV they were riding overturned in an open field west of the subdivision.
Driver Eric Albert, 45, of Terre Haute, was transported to Union Hospital for shoulder pain and later life-lined to an Indianapolis hospital for a collapsed lung. Passenger Mercedie Carrither, 21, of Terre Haute, was transported to Union Hospital for a broken arm.
Alcohol and drugs are not believed to have played a part in the accident.
