TERRE HAUTE — Paul Lockhart will again serve as the Vigo County School Board president in 2013, but the vote was not unanimous.

The vote was 5-1, with board member Jackie Lower voting against. “I think it should be passed around,” she said, referring to the board presidency.

Board member Alpa Patel was unable to attend the organizational meeting, in which officers were elected.

The board voted unanimously, by a 6-0 vote, to make Tammy Pearson board vice president, Patel board secretary and Lower board deputy secretary.

Before the organizational meeting, board members Lower, Lockhart and Mel Burks   were sworn in for another term of office. All won re-election in November.
