Paroled Indiana killer sent back to prison until 2029

Associated Press

INDIANAPOLIS — An Indiana man who served 25 years in prison for killing and dismembering a woman is to be imprisoned again after he violated the terms of his parole by getting into a car with a lone female driver.

The state parole board revoked 57-year-old Robert Evan Lee’s parole today, sending him back to prison until October 2029 to finish the remainder of his 60-year sentence for murder.

Lee says the woman asked for directions to the work-release center where he lives in South Bend. He climbed into the car to show her the way.

There is no indication that he touched or otherwise abused the woman, but conditions of Lee’s parole specifically prohibit him from hitchhiking.

Lee was convicted of killing 31-year-old Ellen Marks of Bloomington in 1985.
