TERRE HAUTE —
Rain-soaked roadway was cited as a contributing factor in a single-vehicle accident Monday morning on Houseman Road, just north of Moyer Drive, the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department said.
Crystal Gaston, 32, of West Terre Haute told police she was driving a black 2006 Chevrolet Impala southbound on Houseman Road at about 7:45 a.m. Monday when a northbound silver sedan crowded the center of the roadway.
Gaston lost control of her vehicle and ran off the road, striking a ditch and culvert, said Vigo County Chief Deputy Sheriff Clark Cottom. Gaston was transported to Terre Haute Regional Hospital with facial injuries.
Also in the vehicle were her children, MaKayla Gaston, 11, and Dalton Frazier, 13, both of West Terre Haute. Each was taken to Regional Hospital for abrasions and nonlife-threatening injuries. Alcohol and drugs were not involved, Cottom said.
