Vermillion drug investigation nets two arrests

CLINTON — Two people have been arrested as the result of a police investigation into pseudoephedrine purchases.

Mica Gibbons, 25, and Gary Chaney, 37, were arrested Tuesday after police went to their residence in the 800 block of Miller Street in Clinton.

Vermillion County Sheriff’s Deputy Chad Hennis reports that he went to the residence with Clinton Police Officer Chad Akers and Indiana State Police Troopers Michael Organ and Tim Rader. Officers said they located methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and firearms at the home.

Gibbons was arrested at about 4 p.m. on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine with a firearm, a class-C felony, possession of paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance.

Chaney was arrested on the same charges at about 6 p.m. after he was located walking on Ninth Street in Clinton.

Both suspects were being held without bail in the Vermillion County Jail.
