UPDATE: U.S. 41 re-opens after school bus crash in southern Vigo County

PIMENTO — U.S. 41 South was closed for nearly two hours late Friday afternoon after a crash involving a school bus and an SUV in southern Vigo County near the Sullivan County line.

There were four children on the bus when the crash took place, according to Indiana State Police.

None of the children was believed to be injured; however, the bus driver and a person from the SUV was reportedly transported to a local hospital, according to police.

The crash took place near U.S. 41 South and Indiana 246. South-bound traffic on U.S. 41 was backed up for about three miles before the highway was re-opened about 6:15 p.m.
