Vermillion woman injured when vehicle hit from behind

LYFORD — A Vermillion County woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on U.S. 41 south of Lyford.

The Indiana State Police, in a news release, said Anna M. Curry, 60, Clinton, was driving south on U.S. 41 in southern Parke County and had stopped to make a left turn onto County Road 900S when her vehicle was struck in the rear by a pickup driven by Brook A. Dreher, 21, Clinton.

Curry was extricated from her vehicle by members of Lyford Fire/Rescue and Parke County EMS. She was taken to Union Hospital in Clinton with lower leg and back injuries, according to the ISP.

Dreher was not injured in the crash, which took place about 12:30 p.m.

No citations were issued, according to the release.
