CENTER POINT — The condition of a woman attacked by a tiger while cleaning its cage at an exotic cat rescue center in Clay County has improved, a hospital representative said Sunday.

Marissa Dub, 21, was listed in serious condition on both Saturday and Sunday at Wishard Memorial Hospital, spokeswoman Natalie Moya said. Dub had been listed in critical condition on Friday, the day she was injured.

Authorities said Dub was attacked by a full-grown male tiger that held her head in its mouth while she was working at the Exotic Feline Rescue Center in Center Point, 20 miles east of Terre Haute.

Dub’s injuries were described as cuts and bone fractures, but were not believed to be life-threatening.
