American Red Cross Dine Out April 24

TERRE HAUTE — As part of the 2013 Save the Day Campaign, restaurants across the Tri-State including here in the Wabash Valley are taking a pledge to donate a percentage of their sales to the American Red Cross on Wednesday, April 24. We are encouraging members of the community to take part in this event by dining out at the participating restaurants to help support the mission of the Red Cross and the 2013 Save the Day Campaign.

The Save the Day Campaign is the largest fundraiser of the year for the local Red Cross with a total goal of $65,000. “This year's Dine Out event will help raise a significant portion of that goal, and we ask everyone to take the time out of their day to eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner on April 24 at the restaurants that have partnered up with the Red Cross,” said Wabash Valley Chapter Executive Director Carol Stevens.

Every dollar customers spend at local eating establishments not only helps our local economy, but also helps fund critical Red Cross services like disaster relief, youth preparedness and healthy living workshops, Services to the Armed Forces and more.

Dining out on April 24 will ensure the Red Cross is there to help friends, neighbors and community members when they need us.

Current Wabash Valley participating restaurants include Texas Roadhouse, Rick's Smokehouse and Grill, Taj Mahal, The Ballyhoo and J. Gumbo in Terre Haute and Thomas Pizza King in Greencastle. McDonalds of Paris in Edgar County, Ill., is holding its Dine-Out on May 1 and McDonalds of Clinton in Vermillion County will Dine-Out on May 13.

Additional participating restaurants are welcome. For information about joining the event as a participating restaurant, contact Dale Anderson, American Red Cross Wabash Valley Chapter at 812-232-3393, ext. 116 or dale.anderson@redcross.org.
