Blood Center in need of supply boost

The Tribune-Star

TERRE HAUTE — The Indiana Blood Center is calling on Hoosiers to help boost blood supply to meet the needs of hospitals around the state. With students out of school and blood donations falling off as a result, community volunteers are needed now more than ever, the agency said in a press release.

Especially needed are donors with O-positive and O-negative blood.

The American Red Cross recently issued a critical plea for blood donors. While Indiana Blood Center, the state’s largest independent blood-provider, is not in a critical situation, it is calling on individuals to visit the nearest Indiana Blood Center donor center or mobile drive within the next 36 to 48 hours.

Donors at any donor center on Friday and Saturday will receive one ticket to the July 30 Heart/Jason Bonham concert at Klipsch Music Center in Noblesville.

Interested donors can find the nearest donor center or list of mobile drives by visiting www.donor

point.org or by calling 800-632-4722.
