RESTAURANT INSPECTIONS: July 8, 2013

TERRE HAUTE — The Vigo County Health Department inspected the following food establishments June 17-21:

Casey’s General Store, 1718 S. Third St., (3 Critical, 1 Non-Critical) - No certified food handler on staff; no sanitizer measured in three-bay sink; handwash sink in back room observed with debris.

Rally’s No. 9044, 129 S. Third St., (2 Critical, 3 Non-Critical) - Cooked hamburgers and chili in walk-in not marked with date of consumption; no proof of certified food handler.

Applebee’s, 1950 Fort Harrison Road, (2 Critical, 2 Non-Critical) - Tilapia, chicken, beef, sautéed mushrooms and onions, blue cheese, riblets, rice and fettuccini noodles found at 48 to 62 degrees, when they should be 41 degrees or less; baked potatoes found at 120 to 122 degrees, when they should be 135 degrees or above.

Fortune China Buffet, 8 Plaza North Shopping Center, (2 Critical, 1 Non-Critical) - Crab rangoon not cooled within time limits (discarded); hard-boiled eggs and breaded chicken found at 51 to 61 degrees; should be 41 degrees or less.

Maurizio’s Pizza of Terre Haute, 2940 Wabash Ave., (1 Critical, 3 Non-Critical) - Shredded cheese, hamburger, Italian beef, sausage, ham and turkey in toppings cooler found at 48 to 50 degrees (discarded).

Umi Grill Sushi Bar, 2002 S. Third St., (1 Critical, 3 Non-Critical) - Raw fish observed above ready-to-eat items at sushi rolling station.

Jimmy John’s, 3734 S. U.S. 41, (1 Critical, 2 Non-Critical) - Slicer observed with debris.

American Legion Post 346, 1346 Wabash Ave., (1 Critical, 1 Non-Critical) - Mold observed on chute in ice machine.

Long John Silver’s, 3485 S. U.S. 41, (1 Critical, 1 Non-Critical) - Fruit flies observed in mop bucket storage area.

Spring Hill Suites by Marriott, 3304 S. U.S. 41, (1 Critical, 1 Non-Critical) - Sausage patties found at 51 degrees; should be 41 degrees or less.
