TERRE HAUTE — Police are still seeking a Terre Haute man who they say fled from the scene of personal injury accident early Tuesday near Canal Road and Davis Drive.

Matthew Montgomery, 29, is the suspect in the 6:43 a.m. accident, which resulted in injuries to his passenger.

The Vigo County Sheriff’s Department reports that Montgomery was driving a Ford Ranger northbound on Canal Road when, according to witnesses, the truck swerved and struck the curb. The driver veered left, but then again went right and struck the curb, causing the truck to roll over several times and come to rest in a ditch on the east side of the road.

A female passenger was ejected from the truck. She was hospitalized for treatment of her injuries.

She informed police that Montgomery was the driver. She also told police that she and Montgomery were having a domestic dispute inside the vehicle when he lost control of the truck.

Montgomery is described as a white male who is 5-feet, 7-inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. He is clean-shaven and bald, with tattoos on his neck and under his left eye.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff’s department at 812-462-3226.
