PUTNAM COUNTY —
As of 10:30 a.m., both lanes of eastbound Interstate 70 in Putnam County have reopened to traffic.
An early morning crash near the 30-mile marker resulted in the highway closure shortly after 3 a.m. A crew from the state highway department cleaned up the area where the accident occurred after a semitrailer reportedly struck a bridge.
Both lanes of the highway were closed for several hours this morning, and eastbound traffic was diverted onto Indiana 59 at the interchange in Clay County.
The state highway department reports that a bridge inspection engineer reports that no damage occurred to the bridge.
No injuries were reported in the crash, which is being investigated by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department.
