Harrison College staging FAFSA workshop

The Tribune-Star

TERRE HAUTE — Harrison College has announced it will be hosting FAFSA workshops statewide.

At the workshops, students can get assistance with preparation of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, the paperwork required of all individuals seeking financial aid for college. Harrison College is offering the free assistance to anyone needing help, regardless of which college they are planning to attend in the fall.

The state deadline for filing the FAFSA for the 2013-14 academic year is March 10. The federal deadline for filing the FAFSA is June 30.

To prepare their FAFSA, students will need their 2012 tax information, along with that of their parents, if the student was born before Jan. 1, 1989. Other situations that do not require students to include their parents’ tax information can be found at www.fafsa.com/understanding-fafsa/fafsa-dependency.

At the Terre Haute campus of Harrison College, 1378 S. Indiana 46, the FAFSA workshop is 4-6 p.m. Tuesday. For more information about Harrison College, call 812-877-2100 or visit www.harrison.edu.
