King to be next UW campaign chair

TERRE HAUTE — Dottie King, president of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, will serve as The United Way of the Wabash Valley’s 2014-2015 Campaign Cabinet chair, the organization said in press release.

The chair will lead campaign cabinet members throughout the 2014-2015 campaign season.

“We are very fortunate to have Dottie, with her exceptional leadership and history of community involvement and philanthropic support, to head this year's campaign,” Troy Fears, United Way executive director, stated in a news release. “We look forward to her leadership, which will ensure that the United Way continues to work hard to make our community a better place."

King is the 16th president of SMWC. An active leader in the community, she is affiliated with many civic and philanthropic organizations, serves on the United Way Board of Directors and is an active member of the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce. She also serves on the Indiana 8th Congressional District Higher Education Advisory Committee and as a member of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce’s Business-Higher Education Forum.

“I look forward to continuing the success and momentum of the 2014 campaign as we begin the 2015 campaign,” King said. “We live in a community with both great need and immense generosity. Together, we can accomplish much good.”
