TERRE HAUTE —
An Indiana State Police investigation into the deaths of three dogs led to the arrest of a rural Putnam County man Wednesday on animal cruelty charges and probation revocation from an unrelated strangulation case, authorities said.
Todd Marsee, 47, of Coatesville, Ind., was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon and charged with one count of cruelty to animals, a class-A misdemeanor, and probation revocation on a non-related original charge of strangulation, a class-D felony, according to an Indiana State Police news release.
On June 20, a witness reported to Indiana State Police Putnamville Post that Marsee had killed three of his own dogs. Trooper Jonathan Cumbie was sent to the Marsee residence and was able to determine through investigation that Marsee allegedly became agitated and struck the nearly three month old Pitbull dogs on the head with a blunt object, ultimately causing their death, police said.
Marsee is being held in the Putnam County Jail with no bond, according to the news release.
