---- — VIGO COUNTY, Ind. – There will be 20-minute closures on Interstate 70 in the eastbound lanes in Vigo County beginning Thursday, June 27 from 11 p.m. until 6 a.m., weather permitting.  Crews will be removing the structural steel beams on the Frye Road Overpass Bridge located near the 13-mile marker. These temporary stops will occur in 20-minute increments during construction. INDOT will allow traffic to clear out before stopping motorists again. Police officers will be assisting INDOT and the contractor with the closures on I-70.

The contract was awarded to Halverson Construction Co. Inc. from Springfield, Ill., for $317,166. This bridge was closed to traffic in September of last year after a piece of construction equipment struck and damaged the bridge. This bridge rehabilitation project will replace three damaged beams and portions of the deck. The work is scheduled for completion by July 19.
