Five arrested in connection with local homicide

TERRE HAUTE — Five people have been arrested in connection with a Nov. 8 homicide in Terre Haute.

Four of those people were located in Texas and have been brought back to Indiana to face charges. All five are incarcerated in the Vigo County jail.

Cody D. Thompson, 29, appeared via video today in Vigo Superior Court 1 on a charge of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, a class-C felony. According to a probable cause affidavit, he was in possession of a firearm at a home in the 2200 block of First Avenue on the day that Ronald Arrowsmith was found dead in the home’s basement. He was arrested Saturday in Terre Haute.

Also making video appearances today in Division 1 court were Allison Wheeler, 37, and Marteail Brewer, 31, both of whom were charged with assisting a criminal. They were located in Houston on Nov. 13, along with Desirae Weaver, 26, whose criminal case will be heard in Division 6 court.

Also arrested in Texas was 33-year-old Damien Tyler, who appeared via video in Vigo Superior Court 5 on a petition to revoke his probation. Tyler was named in the probable cause affidavits as being at the scene of the Arrowsmith shooting.
