WEST TERRE HAUTE — It will be sometime today before information is released on the cause of death of two adults whose partially decomposed bodies were discovered Saturday night in northwestern Vigo County, authorities said on Monday.

Pathologist Dr. Roland Kohr was expected to perform an autopsy on one of the bodies Monday afternoon at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. An autopsy on the second body is expected to take place this morning. Results of both autopsies and information from the police investigation are expected to be released after the second autopsy.

People riding all-terrain vehicles discovered the bodies at about 10 p.m. Saturday, about 150 yards south of Pennington Road, according to police. A white 1997 Ford pickup that police believe belonged to one of the victims was found at the scene, within steps of the victims, police stated.

Police have said they believe what occurred is an isolated incident and that there is no threat to public safety.
