TERRE HAUTE — A partnership of agencies aimed at reducing fraud against senior citizens and enhancing law enforcement services for older people has two meetings set for Thursday.

At 9 a.m., the Triad – which comprises law enforcement, older adults and aging services providers – will meet at 9 a.m. at the Terre Haute Police Department to talk about programs and organization of a senior council.

At 6:30 p.m, SALT — Seniors And Law Enforcement Together — will meet at the Vigo County Public Library to determine the crime safety needs of the local senior community and discuss outreach to the public.

“This is our first effort to get a group of older adult volunteers to put together the program of what to do and how best to do it,” said Tina Kruger, TRIAD secretary.

The public is invited to both sessions, she said, and so are agencies that work with senior citizens.

The meetings are in advance of a Senior Expo event set for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct 16 at Hulman Center.

TRIAD and SALT will have a table at the expo to share information with the public and to receive input on services seniors believe they need.
