TERRE HAUTE — Police have released images of two suspects believed to be responsible for some thefts from area vending machines.

On Monday, a vending company owner reported to the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department that an unknown suspect had stolen money from his vending machines at Ivy Tech Community College.

A review of security video revealed a white male suspect and white female suspect who were also captured on video about 90 minutes earlier at Terre Haute Regional Hospital, where some thefts of money from vending machines had also occurred.

Chief Deputy Clark Cottom of the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department told the Tribune-Star on Wednesday that a joint investigation with the Terre Haute Police Department is ongoing. The male suspect is seen in the video wearing a blue Pepsi NASCAR-style jacket with multiple sponsor patches. He also wears a black ball cap and black pants. The female suspect was wearing a brown winter jacket with fur around the hood, and black capri length pants with white athletic shoes.

An image of their suspect vehicle — a black two-door Nissan Altima or similar style vehicle — was taken from video at Ivy Tech.

Cottom stated that the suspects appeared to be using multiple keys to enter the vending machines. There was no damage to the machines.

Anyone with tips about the vending machine thefts can call Wabash Valley Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or 812-238-STOP; or the Terre Haute Police Department at 812-238-1661.
