A Sullivan County man was arrested on suspicion of intimidation Saturday after police responded to a domestic disturbance at a Merom residence.
Dustin L. Everhart, 32, was arrested on a class-C felony charge and was taken to the Sullivan County Jail under $15,000 bail, with 10 percent allowed.
He has since posted that bail and was no longer in jail on Sunday, according to the sheriff’s department.
At 5 p.m. Saturday, Indiana State Police and the Sullivan County Sheriff’s office responded to a domestic disturbance call.
According to a preliminary investigation, an argument developed between the suspect, his alleged girlfriend and her brother. The suspect was asked to leave the property by the girlfriend and her brother, but instead became angry and reached for a handgun inside his car.
Officers arrived, quelled the disturbance, seized the handgun and arrested the suspect. The incident occurred at the home of the girlfriend and her family.
