Wood to direct United Way campaign, produce PR

TERRE HAUTE — Chris Wood has been named Community Resource Director for the United Way of the Wabash Valley, according to a news release from the agency.

In announcing the selection, Troy Fears, United Way executive director, stated, “We are very excited about the addition of Chris Wood to our staff as our new community resource director. Mr. Wood’s personality, work ethic and professionalism should enable him to do an outstanding job for our United Way. His extensive experience with WTHI-TV will be a tremendous advantage in our campaign efforts. Our search committee was extremely impressed with Chris.”

Wood will be responsible for directing and managing all aspects of the annual fundraising campaign and will also handle marketing and communications duties for the organization.

“I’m honored to be joining the United Way of the Wabash Valley as Community Resource Director,” Wood said. “It’s a privilege to be part of the United Way family and to be focused on opportunities that positively impact lives of people in our community.”

The United Way of the Wabash Valley, whose mission is to help increase the capacity of people in the community to care for one another, comprises 32 member agencies that provide more than 70 funded programs serving Vigo, Parke, Sullivan and Vermillion counties in Indiana and Clark and Crawford counties in Illinois.

United Way-funded programs address areas such as basic needs, family development, disabilities, family stability, health, senior, youth recreation & development, youth social skills & development and other programs dealing with education, income or health.
