PARKE COUNTY RESULTS

The Tribune-Star

ROCKVILLE — Parke County Clerk Diana Hazlett had a unique primary election, as not only responsible for the election, but running as a candidate.

“It was really stressful. I never had an opponent in the primary election. This is my fourth time to run. I served two times as county auditor and now running again for clerk,” Hazlett said. She defeated Tressa Earley, 1,586 votes to 772.

Hazlett said her staff was responsible for conducting the election, as she did not handle any ballots or election machines. Hazlett said election results from the county’s 17 precincts came in at 6:20 p.m. and election results were completed at 7:50 p.m.

“Everything went well and all precincts and absentee ballots are counted. We don’t yet know how many provisional ballots we have to count,” Hazlett said.
