Free cab rides offered for St. Pat’s Day

TERRE HAUTE — Terre Haute law firm Fleschner, Stark, Tanoos & Newlin, which has made a tradition of encouraging free cab rides home to those who have consumed too much to drive, has its eyes now on St. Patrick’s Day.

According to a press release, the firm will offer free cab rides to adults who have had too many drinks on March 15 and 17.

The firm’s Safe and Sober Free Cab Ride Home program will be available in the Terre Haute and West Terre Haute area from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. both days.

To request a free cab ride home, call Yellow Cab of Terre Haute at 812-478-5000 and tell the dispatcher that Fleschner Law is paying for the safe ride home, according to the press release.

There may be a short wait, so callers should telephone at least a half hour before they would like the cab to pick them up.

• People must mention the program to get a free ride home.

• Cab rides are provided from a bar or restaurant to an individual’s residence — not to other drinking locations.

• Because of the high number of ride requests, rides cannot be guaranteed for everyone who calls; however, every attempt will be made to accommodate all requests, the firm said in the press release. Drivers also have the right to use their discretion when accepting fares.
