Vigo County Jail Log: Dec. 18, 2012

TERRE HAUTE — The following individuals were booked into the Vigo County Jail by area law enforcement on Monday and Tuesday, based on jail records. Charges are recommended by arresting officers but are not final until the Vigo County prosecutor reviews the case and files official charges.

Monday

Crystal Abel, 30, 4200 block of South Avery Street, Tell City. Booked 10:41 a.m. Theft.

Robert A. Furnas, 44, 8500 block of East Rio Grande Avenue, Terre Haute. Booked 11:21 a.m. Probation violation.

Zacherey Brown, 20, transient, Terre Haute. Booked 4:38 p.m. Possession of a handgun without a license and bond revocation.

Mark D. Lear, 54, 10 block of South 18th Street, Terre Haute. Booked 6:38 p.m. Battery (two counts).

Arthur A. Harness, 60, 3000 block of North 15th Street, Terre Haute. Booked 7:12 p.m. Court order.

Landis Fairrow Jr., 26, 1300 block of South 15th Street, Terre Haute. Booked 8:22 p.m. Failure to appear.

Monday

Alvin D. Allen, 31, 1900 block of South 19th Street, Terre Haute. Booked 1:15 a.m. Probation violation.

Cortez Atkins, 40, address not given, Terre Haute. Booked 1:19 a.m. Public intoxication and criminal trespassing.

Robert M. Harkness, 38, 3200 block of West Graceland Avenue, West Terre Haute. Booked 2:16 p.m. Visiting a common nuisance.

John L. Chilton, 48, homeless, Terre Haute. Booked 2:18 a.m. Visiting a common nuisance.

Justin G. Goodwin, 30, 1400 block of South 18th Street, Terre Haute. Booked 2:27 a.m. Failure to appear (two counts).

Daniel F. Smith, 49, 2700 block of Dimmick Avenue, Terre Haute. Booked 2:40 a.m. Probation violation (two counts) and visiting a common nuisance.

Paul E. Garred, 44, 100 block of South Hanley Place, West Terre Haute. Booked 3:06 a.m. Obstructing justice, resisting law enforcement, possession of paraphernalia, maintaining a common nuisance and precursor violations.

Under the law, criminal charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
