A possible homicide in western Greene County was being investigated by local authorities on Wednesday.
The Jasonville Police Department has confirmed that a man’s body was found on Meridian Street around 12:55 a.m.
A police dispatcher said Wednesday afternoon that the name of the man would likely not be released until today, and that an autopsy is planned for Friday morning by a forensic pathologist. Police were in the process of interviewing witnesses.
The Greene County coroner has stated that the death appears to be suspicious, but no other details will be released now, police said.
Jasonville is located about 25 miles southeast of Terre Haute.
