BLOOMFIELD, Ind. — Greene County authorities have determined that a woman who fatally shot a man she lived with won’t face criminal charges because she acted in self-defense during a domestic dispute.
Greene County Prosecutor Jarrod Holtsclaw says it was evident that 32-year-old Teena Foster had injuries to her face and along her jaw line the evening of the June 24 shooting.
Foster told police she first tried to stop 33-year-old James Lee Austin from attacking her by telling him to stop.
The Greene County Daily World and The Herald-Times report that after Austin attacked her, Foster fired a warning shot inside the mobile home the couple shared southeast of Bloomfield.
Foster then shot Austin in the abdomen, fatally wounding him, when he advanced on her again.
