TERRE HAUTE — The following individuals were booked into the Vigo County Jail by area law enforcement on Wednesday and Thursday, based on jail records. Charges are recommended by arresting officers but are not final until the Vigo County prosecutor reviews the case and files official charges.


Kenneth Baldwin III, 23, 1500 block of Chestnut Street, Terre Haute. Booked 7 a.m. Domestic battery.

Jalon A. Shaffer, 18, 300 block of Kent Street, Terre Haute. Booked 11:02 a.m. Intimidation, resisting law enforcement, criminal recklessness and carrying a handgun without a license.

Christopher J. Gill, 31, 6500 block of North Dee Street, Terre Haute. Booked 1:35 p.m. Bond revocation.

Velvet R. Jenkins, 21, 2300 block of Chase Street, Terre Haute. Booked 2:46 p.m. Probation violation.

Kristine M. Walters, 24, 5600 block of 176th Street West, Farmington, Minn. Booked 3:34 p.m. Criminal conversion.

Amber Halbmaier, 24, 17500 block of Eureka Avenue, Farmington, Minn. Booked 3:42 p.m. Criminal conversion.

Rory S. Brown, 44, 1400 block of Maple Avenue, Terre Haute. Booked 4:37 p.m. Failure to appear.

Angel D. Caton, 22, 11200 block of East Buck Avenue, Fontanet. Booked 8:44 p.m. Leaving scene property and driver never licensed.

David L. Swinefurth II, 23, 1700 block of North 24th Street, Terre Haute. Booked 10:20 p.m. Failure to appear.


Christopher L. Morgan, 29, 1900 block of North 30th Street, Terre Haute. Booked 12:01 a.m. Habitual traffic violator.

Bradley S. Phillips, 24, 3300 block of South 14 1/2 Street, Terre Haute. Booked 12:11 a.m. Failure to appear (two counts).

Christopher G. Bays, 27, 300 block of West Johnson Street, Sullivan. Booked 1:21 a.m. Receiving stolen auto parts.

Donald L. Johnson, 31, 600 block of North Central Avenue, Paris, Ill. Booked 1:22 a.m. Failure to appear, dealing methamphetamine, possession of firearm by violent offender and parole violation.

Jacob S. Furgerson, 24, 800 block of Beech Street, Marshall, Ill. Booked 2:58 a.m. Operating while intoxicated.

Brandi M. Behning, 26, 8300 block of Punto Alto Drive, Indianapolis. Booked 3:58 a.m. Operating while intoxicated.

Andrew G. Brooks, 30, 200 block of Westfield Lane, West Terre Haute. Booked 4:28 a.m. Operating while intoxicated.

Kevin A. Nasser, 50, 3600 block of Wabash Avenue, Terre Haute. Booked 12:01 p.m. Court order.

Under the law, criminal charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
