TERRE HAUTE —
A Terre Haute woman faces a robbery charge after she allegedly grabbed an elderly man’s wallet and stole $30 from him, injuring the man in the process, according to court documents.
Tammy Church, 43, appeared Monday in Vigo Superior Court 1 where Judge John Roach set a Dec. 16 trial date and appointed public defender Luther Garcia to the case.
The 91-year-old victim told police that Church came to his house on June 3 while he was outside in his car. He said that the woman asked him for money, then reached into his auto and grabbed his wallet out of his hand, taking $30. She then allegedly crawled over the man to exit the vehicle, injuring his left arm.
She was arrested on charges of robbery resulting in bodily injury, a class-B felony, and battery resulting in bodily injury, a class-A misdemeanor.
