Vigo County Jail Log: June 28, 2013

TERRE HAUTE — The following individuals were booked into the Vigo County Jail by area law enforcement on Thursday and Friday, based on jail records. Charges are recommended by arresting officers but are not final until the Vigo County prosecutor reviews the case and files official charges.

Thursday

James H. Newman, 51, 600 block of Swam Street, Terre Haute. Booked 11:05 a.m. Intimidation.

Randy W. Dispennett, 42, 300 block of West Miller Avenue, West Terre Haute. Booked 12:56 p.m. Receiving stolen property.

Robert A. Laycock, 45, 200 block of North Ninth Street, West Terre Haute. Booked 2:39 p.m. Failure to appear.

Keith A. Shepherd, 36, no address, Terre Haute. Booked 2:53 p.m. Escape.

Seth M. Gerdink, 2, 1600 block of West Michaels Avenue, West Terre Haute. Failure to appear.

Shawn L. Stephens, 24, 1000 block of South 25th Street, Terre Haute. Booked 5:06 p.m. Battery-domestic, criminal mischief and failure to appear.

Robert M. Smith, 24, 1800 North Avenue, Terre Haute. Booked 11:59 p.m. Theft.

Friday

Keyontay K. Simpson, 20, 700 block of South Colbert Avenue, Evansville. Booked 1:05 a.m. Possession of a handgun without a license.

Brian A. Long, 34, 400 block of Foulkes Drive, Terre Haute. Booked 1:55 a.m. Criminal trespassing.

Under the law, criminal charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
