ROCKVILLE — A Parke County man has been charged with murder in last week’s death of a Rosedale woman.
Earl L. Edwards, 52, of Rosedale, appeared in Parke Circuit Court this afternoon, when Judge Sam Swaim read charges of murder, criminal confinement and theft filed by Prosecutor Steve Cvengros against Edwards.
The accused, wearing a bullet-proof vest over an orange inmate uniform, requested a public defender during the initial hearing.
Swaim set an Aug. 13 trial date in the case. If convicted of murder, Edwards faces a sentencing range of 45 to 65 years.
